Luxury Spiritual Retreats in Cambodia

These Spiritual Retreats in Cambodia are life changing getaways centred around holistic wellness and spirituality in the heart of mystical Angkor. Once a residence for guests of the king, the exquisite resort Amansara has been delicately restored, retaining its former glory with a contemporary twist. Only ten minutes away from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Angkor, Amansara is perfectly placed for a spiritual retreat in Cambodia and also as part of a multi-destination healing journey with us.

Day 1:

Arrive in Siem Reap, Cambodia and take a short journey to Amansara. Meet with your Spa Manager to discuss your spiritual journey and enjoy an evening talk on ‘Understanding Buddhism as a philosophy, culture and religion in Cambodia’.

Day 2:

Sunrise at Angkor Wat – Capture the atmosphere of this magnificent temple by moonlight and then inside as the first rays of the sun rise.

Ta Prohm – Home to 615 exquisite dancer reliefs, this temple is a park favourite so enjoy before the crowds arrive.

Breakfast at Aman’s Khmer Village House within Angkor – relax infront of the ancient Royal bathing pool Srah Srang and enjoy a traditional breakfast in Angkor!

Monk’s chanting – Witness Buddhist monk’s chanting at a local Pagoda and learn about Buddhism in Cambodia.

Day 3:

Early morning visit to temples – Begin at the lesser known Tai Nei temple as the sun rises and then learn about Angkor Thom. The highlight of the morning is The Bayon, which represents Mount Meru, the centre of the Buddhist cosmos.

Wellness afternoon – Enjoy a traditional Cambodian bath therapy called ‘Sras’, before a hot herbal compress massage or ‘Sor om Massa’. End the day with sunset yoga.

Day 4:

Spiritual Water Blessing and Monk Meditation – This transformational day of spirituality and wellness begins at an ancient Pagoda which houses a 12th century Angkorian Prasat (temple). Partake in a very special water blessing before joining a sacred meditation with Buddhist monks.

Afternoon Yoga – return to Amansara and enjoy some restorative yoga before sunset.

Day 5:

Forest Healing and Meditation with Monks – Reconnect with nature and within on a unique journey with Buddhist Monks. Begin with a walking meditation, led by a Master Monk, followed by the monk’s procession for lunchtime offerings. Become one with nature by ‘forest bathing’ and later experience a private meditation session with a local monk.

Day 6:

Ancestral Khmer Incense Class – The essence of Cambodia’s best herbs, plants and flowers is extracted to create sacred incense, used daily in ceremonies and homes. Create your own incense as a meaningful memory to take home.
