Today at Soul Sanctuaries we had the pleasure to chat to Women’s Health Expert Nancy Kim, MSTOM, DIPL. OM, Oriental Medicine Consultant at the wonderful COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali. I really think Nancy sums up the major issues facing our female clients, which is why we love to send our clients to her. Taking that well deserved time out, beginning to care for the self and healing in a holistic way is what you can expect from your personalised stay.

Bali Kids Childrens Charity

Why are we working with a Bali children’s charity?

balikids-health

Central to our company mission is a giving program called Give a Little Soul a Sanctuary. It’s our pledge that whenever somebody books a healthy holiday with us whether that be a luxury yoga retreat in Bali, a well earned detox holiday in Thailand or a step on the path to spiritual enlightenment, part of each payment will go towards helping impoverished children in Asia. Soul Healer Abi

Why self healing is not just the stuff of fairies

I knew that, by setting up a luxury wellness travel company, I would enter a period of self healing and personal transformation, but I didn’t bank on this. Thinking of what might typify our guests (cashed up, spiritually depleted and burnt out soul seekers who’ve seen more than a few sides to life so far) I never banked on being one of them myself.

“If you think you’re so enlightened…”

Ram Dass

One of my favorite quotes from Ram Dass is “If you think you are so enlightened, go spend a week with your parents” . There’s something about interactions with family that cut to the core and raise all kind of emotional traumas isn’t there. I remember when I decided to stop eating meat. In Asia this was no issue at all, there was no judgement. But when I returned to the North East of England you’d have thought that I had joined a cult! And I disappointed myself, gave in and ate meat the entire time I was visiting.

The gift that keeps on giving

Central to our business plan for Soul Sanctuaries is a giving program called ‘Give a Little Soul a Sanctuary’. We believe that it will be the icing on the cake if somebody came to partake in one of our health programs or wellness retreats and not only helped themselves but also benefited someone in need too. A portion of each participants payment will go direct to a child in need. You’ll be able to see how children have benefited in our website widget and our Giving Reports as well as Social Media updates.

Spend a moment to recall the last time you helped someone in need, whether donating funds, time or advice. How did you feel afterwards? Pretty damn good eh. That feeling of universality and love is just like the gift that keeps on giving. Lets see what the guru’s say about this…

A seaside sound meditation

Soul Sanctuaries will offer world weary individuals the opportunity to meet their inner selves, rejuvenate, detox or simply pamper in luxurious surroundings. We think that, if your budget affords it, you don’t have to deny yourself to meet yourself.Think yoga and meditation with living food and personalized guidance with the additional benefits of Egyptian cotton sheets.

We want to be able to tell our clients that we’ve personally experienced all our wellness retreats. Authenticity is key. Sometimes locations fall short but this weekend we experienced the most magical sanctuary imaginable. Read on… Read More

Is it my ego or does this Yoga Retreat suck?

Part of our work in developing Soul Sanctuaries is to seek out amazing off the beaten track havens where we can send guests or run one of our signature Soul Retreats in the near future. So we packed our bags and headed off to a possible sanctuary in the misty mountains in Bali.

Location, tropical wilderness (check)

Greeting on arrival, warm and friendly (check)

Accommodation, luxurious, nice energy and peaceful (check)

Cuisine, mediocre and a bit disorganized

Spa Treatments, automotron comes to mind? When did a soft Javanese massage become a shiatsu?

Yoga class (advance apologies to anyone who thinks my ego got the better of me here but this class was awful, hilarious and a bit dangerous for your health at the same time!)
