Wellness guests are guided through daily meditation sessions including Yoga Nidra (physic sleep), Ajapa Japa (spontaneous mantra chanting), Antar Mouna (inner silence) and Trataka (gazing on a candle flame).

One-on-one hatha yoga sessions are personalised for each guest to help release physical stiffness and tensions and attain stillness, whilst Pranayama breathing techniques balances the energy and internalises the mind to assist meditative practices. Topics related to Yogic philosophy and its incorporation into daily practices are discussed with the Yoga Guru. The Dhyana program also includes Swadhaya or self-study which is a deeper reflection on each day’s experiences.

Location

Ananda is situated in the town of Narendranagar, part of the state of Uttaranchal, close to the cities of Rishikesh and Haridwar. There are frequent flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, followed by a 40 minute picturesque drive. Car transfers from either the airport or train station are included.

Soul Food

Your personalised Ayurvedic diet will be based on your Dosha or body type. For example Vata body types (air and space) lean towards light and dry food. In order to balance this oily, moist and heavy foods with tones of sweet, sour and salt must be added to the diet. The aim is to revitalise the body through a healthy approach to diet and lifestyle.
