Anti Gravity Yoga and Meditation in Bali

anti gravity yogaSoul Sanctuaries founder Joanne feeling footloose and fancy free

Always on the search for new authentic wellness experiences for our guests, we heard that Four Seasons Sayan in Ubud, Bali had commissioned a rather special yoga bale. Designed by award winning architect and lover of all things bamboo, Elora Hardy, the yoga bale, which rests at the foot of the resort, was inspired by a lotus petal. Created from sustainable local bamboo, it offers shelter from the elements and is home to the island’s first AntiGravity Yoga.

Asia Luxury Spa Treatments

me(My post Pure TDA facial glowing skin, loving it)

Last year I had the pleasure of working with the consummate professionals over at A.W. Lake Spa Concepts when I provided spa marketing consultation for the launch strategy of Indonesia’s first Heavenly Spa by Westin in Nusa Dua in Bali. A.W. Lake designed the sixteen treatment rooms spa and their top trainer Richard Williams was drafted in to train the staff on new luxury spa therapies. Working with him was such fun too! It had to be a world record that only four months post launch Heavenly Spa won a World Luxury Spa award for ‘Indonesia’s Best Luxury Wellness Spa’.

Yesterday I was honoured to experience a revolutionary new spa facial treatment care of A.W. Lake  in partnership with Arivine Pharma AG (Switzerland) and MedddropGmbH (Germany).  The Pure Transdermal Facial (PURE TDA facial) is the world’s first dermatological therapy system that transports active ingredients to the deepest skin levels, attacks damaging hypoxias and delivers a long term effect. But enough of the science speak, how was it really I hear you ask?

A new meditation teacher in Bali

One of the great things about owning Soul Sanctuaries is that we get asked to help out on amazing new projects in Asia. Our co-founder Joanne McFarlane has the honour of acting as an Asian Spa Consultant for the launch of Indonesia’s first Heavenly Spa by Westin in Nusa Dua in Bali. On December 1st the new 16 treatment room luxury spa will open, featuring extensive his and his thermal facilities, spa treatments inspired by ancient wisdom and using local ingredients and a focus on holistic health. With that in mind, Joanne went searching for somebody special to act as their Wellness Ambassador and met a very special Buddhist Nun on a return route from Myanmar. Read her story here.

Kundalini Yoga all your woes away?

This morning I headed off to my regular Kundalini class in Bali, which always makes me feel balanced and creative afterwards. Have to say I wasn’t feeling too great beforehand (hormonal chaos). If you’ve been to a Kundalini class before you’ll probably have experienced feeling physically exhausted during repetitive movements, but really pushing yourself beyond your preconceived limits. Well, after moving rapidly, breathing in sync and Sat Nam-ing my way through the class, I later totally lost my cool at the bank… not very Om to say the least!

Balancing the Chakras Balinese style at Fivelements

Yesterday I took my blocked and spinning chakras up to the sacred space of Fivelements in Ubud. I was met with a warm and open hearted welcome and immediately felt at one with the elements (pardon the pun!). Set at the foot of the sacred Ayung river in Ubud, Fivelements is eco luxury at its best. Imagine bamboo structures with high tech, minimal impact lighting. I was there to experience a Chakra Balancing session with Balinese healer Pak Dewa. Fivelements base all healing treatments on the Balinese principle of Sekala-Niskala. There is an understanding that we all live equally in two worlds; the conscious or seen world Sekala and the unseen or physic world Niskala. At the beginning of our healing treatment, Pak Dewa called upon a higher divine source to help to facilitate the process.
